    1. Entry to School Program (Ages 3–6)

The Entry to School (ETS) Program is a foundational service aimed at preparing children with ASD for their first experience in a school setting. This program includes:

    • Six-Month Skill-Building Phase: A structured, group-based program focusing on developing school-readiness skills such as following routines, communication, social interaction, and play.
    • Transition Support Phase: Ongoing assistance as the child enters kindergarten or Grade 1, ensuring a smooth adaptation to the school environment.

    Key Skills Developed:

    • Communication: Enhancing both verbal and non-verbal communication abilities to express needs and interact with peers and educators.
    • Play: Encouraging imaginative and cooperative play to build creativity and social understanding.
    • Social Interaction: Teaching children to initiate and respond to social cues, fostering friendships and collaborative learning.
    • Routine Adherence: Establishing comfort with daily schedules and classroom expectations to promote independence and confidence.

    2. Urgent Response Services (URS)

Urgent Response Services provide immediate, short-term support for children and youth with ASD who are experiencing a specific, high-risk situation. These services are designed to:

    • Stabilize the Situation: Implement rapid interventions to address behaviors that pose a risk to the child or others.
    • Develop Coping Strategies: Equip children and families with tools to manage challenging behaviors and prevent future crises.
    • Coordinate Care: Collaborate with existing service providers to ensure a cohesive approach to the child’s well-being.

    Key Focus Areas:

    • Safety: Prioritizing the immediate safety of the child and those around them.
    • Behavior Management: Addressing issues such as aggression, self-injury, or severe anxiety through tailored strategies.
    • Family Support: Providing caregivers with guidance and resources to navigate the crisis effectively.

    3. Caregiver Workshops and Training

Empowering caregivers is a cornerstone of our approach. Through OAP-funded workshops, we offer:

    • Educational Sessions: Covering topics like behavior management, communication techniques, and stress reduction.
    • Skill-Building Activities: Interactive workshops that teach practical strategies for supporting a child’s development at home.
    • Support Networks: Opportunities for caregivers to connect, share experiences, and build a community of support.

    Benefits for Caregivers:

    • Enhanced Understanding: Gaining insights into ASD and effective ways to support their child’s unique needs.
