Our Story – Autism Center for Kids Inc.
Autism Center for Kids Inc. was founded on a simple belief: every child deserves to be understood, supported, and empowered.
What began as a small, passion-driven practice has grown into a trusted provider of autism therapy and child psychotherapy across Ontario. We specialize in supporting children with autism, ADHD, anxiety, trauma, and developmental challenges.
Our approach is different.
We focus on the whole child—not just behavior. Our therapy emphasizes emotional connection, developmental growth, and family involvement rather than rigid, one-size-fits-all models like traditional ABA.
We created this center to fill a gap—where families were overwhelmed by long waitlists, limited options, and approaches that didn’t align with their child’s emotional needs.
Our Approach to Autism Therapy
Our work is grounded in over 20 years of clinical experience in child development and mental health.
We focus on understanding each child’s internal world:
- Emotions
- Sensory experiences
- Communication style
- Relationships
We integrate evidence-based psychotherapy approaches, including:
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
- Play Therapy
- DIR/Floortime
- The Miller Method®
- Parent Coaching and Family Therapy
This integrated, non-ABA approach helps children develop emotional regulation, communication skills, and meaningful relationships.
