Our Story – Autism Center for Kids Inc.

At Autism Center for Kids Inc., our story begins with a simple but powerful belief: every child deserves to be understood, supported, and given the opportunity to thrive. What started as a small, passion-driven initiative has grown into a trusted therapy center serving children, teens, and families across Ontario.

Founded by dedicated clinicians with decades of experience in child development, mental health, and autism support, the center was built to offer something different—therapy that looks beyond labels and focuses on the whole child. From the beginning, our approach has emphasized emotional connection, developmental growth, and family involvement rather than rigid, one-size-fits-all models.

We saw a gap in services: families were often navigating complex systems, long waitlists, and therapies that didn’t fully align with their child’s emotional and developmental needs. Autism Center for Kids Inc. was created to bridge that gap—offering meaningful, relationship-based care delivered by qualified psychotherapists, social workers, and psychologists.

See How It All Began

The foundation of Autism Center for Kids Inc. is rooted in over 20 years of hands-on clinical experience working with children with autism, ADHD, anxiety, trauma, and learning differences. Early on, it became clear that children benefit most from therapy that is flexible, engaging, and grounded in human connection.

Rather than focusing solely on behavior, we chose to focus on understanding the child’s internal world—their emotions, sensory experiences, communication style, and relationships.

Our model integrates evidence-based psychotherapy approaches such as:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
  • Play Therapy
  • Floortime (DIR model)
  • The Miller Method
  • Parent Coaching and Family Therapy

Over time, families began to seek us out not just for therapy, but for guidance, clarity, and support in navigating their child’s development. What started as a small practice evolved into a multidisciplinary center dedicated to helping children and families grow together.

Purpose in Action

Our purpose is simple but deeply meaningful:
To empower children and families through compassionate, evidence-based, and relationship-focused care.

We bring this purpose to life by:

  • Creating individualized therapy plans tailored to each child
  • Supporting parents as active participants in their child’s progress
  • Addressing emotional, social, and behavioral challenges holistically
  • Providing therapy in a safe, welcoming, and child-friendly environment

Every session is designed to build confidence, strengthen relationships, and help children develop the skills they need for everyday life.
