Specialized autism Services for Children

At our front of ACK we provide Specialized Autism Services, we provide a compassionate, child-led autism therapy designed to support emotional growth, communication, creativity, and social connection. Our approach is non-ABA, relationship-based, and deeply respectful of each child’s unique nervous system, experiences, and strengths.

We believe children with autism deserve therapy that feels safe, engaging, and empowering—not rigid or compliance-focused. That’s why our programs center around music therapy, art therapy, play therapy, CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care, and social skills learning, helping children grow in ways that feel natural and meaningful to them.

OAP /ACess OAP

At Autism Center for Kids, we provide OAP Core Clinical Services designed to support your child’s unique developmental and emotional needs. These services may include applied behaviour analysis (ABA), occupational therapy, speech-language therapy, and mental health supports, all guided by an individualized, child-centered approach.
Families can access these services using their Ontario Autism Program (OAP) funding, including childhood budgets, interim one-time funding, and other eligible funding streams. Services may also be covered through private insurance, community-based funding programs, or out-of-pocket options.
Autism Center for Kids meets the required standards to deliver services under the Ontario Autism Program (OAP), ensuring families receive high-quality, evidence-informed care tailored to their child.

02

Privet insurance

Many families choose to use private insurance to cover mental health services at Autism Center for Kids. Our psychotherapy services may be eligible for reimbursement when provided by a registered psychotherapist (CRPO) or a registered social worker, depending on your specific insurance plan.
Coverage varies significantly between providers. In many cases, plans offer limited annual coverage—often around $500 per year—while some plans may provide higher amounts.
We strongly recommend that parents contact their insurance provider directly to confirm:
Whether services by a registered psychotherapist or social worker are covered
The total annual coverage amount
Any requirements for reimbursement (e.g., referrals, receipts, or provider credentials)
Understanding your benefits in advance can help you plan your child’s care and avoid unexpected costs.

ACK give back project

At Autism Center for Kids, we believe that every child deserves access to quality mental health and developmental support, regardless of financial barriers. Through our ACK Give Back Project, we are committed to supporting families who do not have access to funding through the Ontario Autism Program (OAP) or private insurance.
Over the past year, we are proud to have provided over $150,000 in services to children and families in need. This initiative allowed many children to receive essential support, including psychotherapy, counseling, and developmental services, who otherwise would not have had access.
Our Give Back Project reflects our ongoing mission to make care accessible, inclusive, and community-driven, ensuring that financial limitations do not prevent children from getting the help they deserve.
