Autism & Mental Health Care Services for Children, Teens & Families

Compassionate, Evidence-Informed Therapy That Helps Children Thrive

Every child deserves to feel understood, valued, and supported. At Autism Center for Kids, we provide comprehensive autism and mental health services that help children, teenagers, and families build the skills they need for lifelong success. Our experienced clinicians create individualized therapy plans that focus on communication, emotional well-being, cognitive development, social relationships, and family support.

We believe therapy should strengthen the whole child—not simply address behaviours. Our relationship-based approach helps children develop confidence, resilience, independence, and meaningful connections with others.

Unlike clinics that rely on a single treatment model, we combine evidence-informed therapeutic approaches, developmental interventions, psychotherapy, and parent coaching to create personalized programs tailored to each child's unique strengths, challenges, and goals.

Comprehensive Autism & Mental Health Services

We offer individualized assessments and therapy programs designed to support children with autism, ADHD, developmental delays, anxiety, emotional regulation challenges, learning differences, behavioural concerns, and other mental health needs.

Our multidisciplinary team works closely with parents, schools, caregivers, and other professionals to provide consistent, child-centered care that promotes meaningful developmental progress.

Begin Your Child's Journey

Initial Consultation

Every family's journey begins with a comprehensive intake appointment where we take the time to understand your child's developmental history, strengths, current challenges, and your family's goals.

Our clinicians carefully listen to your concerns and recommend the services that best fit your child's needs.

Clinical Assessment

A thorough developmental and mental health assessment allows us to gain a deeper understanding of your child's communication, emotional functioning, social skills, cognitive abilities, sensory needs, and overall development.

This assessment forms the foundation for a personalized treatment plan.

Personalized Therapy Program

Following the assessment, we develop an individualized therapy plan designed specifically for your child.

Each program includes measurable goals, ongoing progress monitoring, regular parent feedback, and adjustments as your child develops new skills.

Our Therapy Programs

Parent Counselling & Coaching

Parents play the most important role in a child's development.

Our parent coaching services provide practical strategies that can be used every day at home to reinforce progress made during therapy sessions.

Topics may include:

  • Parent Management Training (PMT)
  • Autism parenting strategies
  • Behaviour support

When parents feel confident, children benefit.

Social Skills Groups

Many children learn best by practicing social skills alongside peers in structured, supportive environments.

Our social groups help children improve:

  • Turn taking
  • Cooperation
  • Emotional awareness
  • Perspective taking
  • Problem solving
  • Confidence
  • Group participation

Activities are designed to be engaging, enjoyable, and developmentally appropriate.

Play Therapy

Play is a child's natural language.

Our play therapists use structured and child-led activities to help children process emotions, strengthen communication, improve relationships, and build cognitive flexibility.

Play therapy may help children experiencing:

  • Anxiety
  • Autism
  • ADHD
  • Emotional regulation challenges
  • Trauma
  • Behavioural difficulties
  • Social challenges

Therapy sessions are designed to be fun while promoting meaningful developmental growth.

Why Families Choose Autism Center for Kids

Relationship-Based Care

We believe meaningful progress begins with trust, connection, and emotional safety.

Instead of focusing only on changing behaviour, we help children understand themselves, build confidence, strengthen relationships, and develop lifelong skills.

Every therapy session is built around respect, compassion, and genuine human connection.

Evidence-Informed Therapy

Our clinicians use well-established therapeutic approaches supported by current research and clinical practice.

Depending on your child's needs, therapy may include:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Play Therapy
  • Parent Management Training (PMT)
  • Cognitive Development Therapy
  • Developmental Therapy
  • DIR® Floortime® principles
  • Miller Method strategies
  • Emotion-Focused Therapy
  • Social Skills Training

Every treatment plan is individualized rather than following a one-size-fits-all model.

Individualized Treatment Plans

No two children learn in exactly the same way.

We carefully assess each child's strengths, challenges, interests, developmental level, and family goals before designing therapy.

Treatment plans evolve as children grow and reach new developmental milestones.

Progress You Can Measure

Therapy should produce meaningful outcomes.

We establish clear goals, regularly review progress, collaborate with parents, and modify interventions whenever necessary to maximize success.

Our focus is helping children achieve lasting improvements that carry into everyday life.

Experienced Multidisciplinary Team

Our clinicians come from diverse backgrounds in psychotherapy, child development, developmental psychology, education, speech and language support, and mental health.

Working collaboratively allows us to address the complex needs of children with autism and co-occurring mental health conditions from multiple perspectives.
